Goonies sequel possibly in the works

The current rumour going around is that the Goonies 2 may be in the works. I don't understand why people feel the need to mess with a classic. You make a sequel, it sucks, and then people start questioning why they liked the first movie to begin with. Especially when you are making the second movie a literal 29 years later.

Richard Donner, the original producer and director of the film, said that he is making a sequel and wants to bring back the original cast. As what? Parents who still live in that small town and have been searching for the last 30 years for a ship full of treasure? There is no part of this that I support.

The only person who would jump on this would probably be Corey Feldman, because he is a wash and has gone as low as having his own reality show. Was he on celebrity rehab? Probably.

Josh Brolin? No. Sean Austin? Doubtful. And what about the guy who played Chunk? He is no longer chunky, so that would totally not work. Martha Plimpton, who played Stef would probably be OK to sign on, since Raising Hope got cancelled and she probably needs work.

All in all, it's a terrible idea. Just drop it Donner.
