Canadian performers come together for Alberta Flood Aid concert

The relief efforts are not over yet. After the 2013 Southern Alberta floods there has been many opportunities for people to donate to the Red Cross and other organizations that are assisting with the flood relief effort. Shirts have been sold and thousands have just been flat out donated.

Organizers announced today the line-up for a benefit concert, Alberta Flood Aid, which will take place on August 15 at McMahon Stadium.

Some big Canadian names will be participating in the quickly organized show including The Sheepdogs, Matthew Good, Tom Cochrane, Johnny Reid, Jann Arden, Randy Bachman, Colin James, Loverboy, Corb Lund, The Sadies and Ian Tyson.

Most of the performers have ties to Alberta, or at least the prairie region. The event will be hosted by former Corner Gas TV star Brent Butt.

Tickets for the event start at $30 and will go on sale Friday July 19, 2013 on Ticketmaster. I would also like to note that Ticketmaster is waiving their usual unwanted service fees to lower costs.

All ticket proceeds will benefit the Calgary Foundation’s Flood Rebuilding Fund which was created to support long-term community recovery efforts especially in the hardest hit areas of Canmore, High River and nearby First Nations reserves.
