Hell on Wheels set evacuated due to flooding in Alberta

The Alberta filmed Hell on Wheels had evacuated today after flooding was threatening their set. The show, which is filmed just outside of Calgary, was one of the many casualties of the rising rivers and flooding that happened today.

No word yet on when the flooding will go down, thus no idea when filming will resume for the show.

Many areas of Calgary and southern Alberta have been evacuated with officials stating that within Calgary approx 75,000 to 100,000 people will have to be relocated due to the flooding. They have said that this will be worse than the floods of 2005 which also left a lot of damage.

High River, which is just south of Calgary, got completely killed earlier in the day and the river has severely damaged the little town. People had to be rescued off roofs, hauled out of their homes by combines and evacuate with not much notice.

Stay dry Alberta.
