French version of Survivor, Koh-Lanta, loses contestant to heart attack during first day of filming

There is always a chance that your body won't take the extremes of going on a reality show, especially one with the physical demands of Survivor, but I don't think that is what happened to 25 year old, GĂ©rald Babin on the French version of the show, Koh-Lanta.

Babin suffered a series of heart attacks and passed away during the first day of filming in Cambodia. Filming of the show has been suspended and the other contestants have headed back to France.

That is a really sad and odd story. I am sure the show has a lengthy process that they put someone through before allowing them to take part in the show, medical testing included. There is no word yet on what caused the heart attacks, but it is probable that it was a pre-existing condition.
