Out This Weekend

I am sorry to report, it's a weak weekend my friends. Very weak indeed.

Bullet to the Head
I think it would be a pretty safe bet to say that at some point in this movie Stallone is like, "I'm too old for this shit." And he would be right. It's just not right. I think his next role should be some sort of Mob boss or something - you know, the guy who gets other, younger, people to do the running around and he sits back being all old and wise. Side Note: "You're starting to sound like a broken record." "They don't even make records anymore." Um, hipsters will not appreciate the vinyl diss.

Stand Up Guys (limited)
Holler, another movie about old dudes...except this time the old dudes are actually acting like old dudes. Take note Stallone. Pacino, Walken and Arkin - fabulous. And, based on this preview, I think the storyline could give for some interesting, entertaining and potentially heart-string plucking movie watching.

Warm Bodies
This movie looks so f-cking dumb I don't even know where to begin. First, I cannot stand that zombies are the new 'it' thing. I'd say "Stop trying to make it happen" but from the sight of my Twitter feed during The Walking Dead, I'd say it already has. It doesn't mean, however, that I am going to jump on that bandwagon any time soon. Not even a chance. Second, the main Zombie isn't hot - one would think he should be hot right? Third, Dave Franco is in it and I am pretty sure he has only like, five minutes of screen time. THE INJUSTICE.

My Pick: Stand Up Guys of course.

Side Note: Calgary this is for you. This weekend is the 20th anniversary of Cool Runnings (the Jamaican bobsled movie, don't make me smack you for never hearing of it) and there will be a screening at the Plaza Theatre in Kensington on  Sunday Feb. 3 at 1:30 PM. There will be a Q and A after the show with some of the people from the movie as well as some of the real live athletes. Holla.

XOXO
Jes...
