Anne Hathaway wasn't originally going to wear that nipple dress

Anne Hathaway's Oscar dress was the butt of many jokes during and after the show. It was, as one might say, a bit nippily.

But as it turns out, this was not Anne's first choice for the evening. Originally she was going to be wearing the above Valentino dress and made the last minute switch to Prada according to a statement made to People Magazine.

It came to my attention late Saturday night that there would be a dress worn to the Oscars that is remarkably similar to the Valentino I had intended to wear, and so I decided it was best for all involved to change my plans," Anne told People

"Though I love the dress I did wear, it was a difficult last minute decision as I had so looked forward to wearing Valentino in honor of the deep and meaningful relationship I have enjoyed with the house and with Valentino himself. I deeply regret any disappointment caused."

So damage control, but how do the peeps over at Prada feel about being the last minute second choice dress? Burn. That's probably why they didn't warn her about the nipple like darts in her dress.
