Their radio program has since been suspended and they have been requested by their station to not talk about the situation. The public is up in arms about the whole thing and I have heard multiple people say the hosts should be charged.
I don't generally say unflattering things about dead people, but there was something more going on with the recently deceased nurse than the fact that she was a trusting person who was made to look unprofessional on the internet/radio.
People screw up at work all the time. Mistakes are made very publicly by a lot of people - but they don't all go home and end their lives. Do I think that this prank may have been the push that put her over the edge? Maybe. Do I think that there is any possible way that this could have been the only factor in her life ending decision? Absolutely not.
This woman was not even the one who was giving out all of the information and listening to the supposed Queen talk about her corgis. It was the one who talked to the callers for less than five seconds. I think it is more embarrassing for the hospital than anything else that they don't have some sort of procedure in place for well known/royal patients.
I just think this whole thing is absurd. I am really sorry that this woman died, but to blame it on these radio hosts is a bunch of bullshit. They didn't air any information that the public didn't already know and the piece that aired was prerecorded and vetted by lawyers before it was aired.
I don't even know what else to say...this is just too outrageous.
XOXO
Jes...
Okay I KIND OF disagree ... Yes she obviously had something else going on but it takes very little to send someone over the edge when it comes to mental health issues.
ReplyDeleteThe prank was a cruel thing to do. No ifs ands or buts. Funny? Nope.
