Sugarhill Gang surprises Q-Benjamin

This is entertaining. I remember last year at the Junos when this girl, who was then called Quantisha, won R&B recording of the year...she was the one that said she didn't have management or a label. I thought it was hilarious at the time, but I guess that's old news.

Girl has got herself a label, management, and a new name. Oh, what a difference a year makes! Her management decided to play a prank on her (above). They got her to do some rapping karaoke to Sugarhill Gang's Rapper's Delight...and the old boys from the Gang were actually in the building.

I think she was doing a much better job at their song before they got there, but you do need to give some mad props to them for trying. Also to Hen Dogg for still carrying around a cane when it no longer looks like an accessory, but a necessity.

Looking forward to see what else we will get from this Q-Benjamin girl. If I am correct...we have never had a successful female hip-hop artist from Canada...let alone the mean streets of Edmonton.
