The Screen Actors Guild Awards were tonight. Did you watch? If you didn't...that's fine. You didn't miss much. I was only half tuned into the show so I don't really know if anything spectacular happened, but I would like to tell you my biggest disappointment and best surprise of the night with the winning outcomes.
Biggest Disappointment
Betty White - Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series
Complete bullshit. Just cause the lady made it to 90 doesn't mean she is deserving of any sort of award. If you really need to give her one do something like one of those 'life time achievement awards' that they give old people before they push off their iceberg float and let them die in peace.
I cannot believe that anyone thought she was more deserving than the likes of Tina Fey, Sofia Vergara or Julie Bowen. Irritated is only half of what I feel about this outcome.
Best Outcome
The Help - Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture
So great. I loved this movie and there were so many amazing performances...it was definitely well deserving of the trophy. Octavia Spencer and Viola Davis both won in their respected categories as well (supporting actress and actress - motion picture). Emma Stone, Allison Janney, Jessica Chastain, and Bryce Dallas Howard - all spectacular in this.
I am also just relieved that the Bridesmaids cast didn't win...like that would actually happen, but they were nominated so you never know.
For a full list of winners and losers go here.
XOXO
Jes...
