After a couple weeks of nothing (literally...ok there was one weird horror movie that I never wrote about, sue me) there are a bunch of movies hitting the screens this weekend.
YAY! I will actually put in my contacts and go to the theatre to watch this in 3D. Greatness.
My husband made another movie...about some guy who got out of crime and then was forced to go back into it and do a big job all in the sake of family. The list of movies with this storyline is endless...BUT since it is my husband (Mark Wahlberg) I demand that you go out and buy a ticket. Support my family. You know you want to.
Freud...did not fascinate me in University and this movie doesn't look like it will blow my mind either. I am sure it will do well in the right circles. I also don't think I would like Keira Knightley's character.
Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher, a casting made in the womb. Seriously, it is perfect. This is definitely awards season bait, as most biographical films are. If I had any type of advanced knowledge of Thatcher and her term I may be inclined to see this, unfortunately I do not.
This was no
Sister Act II. It was cookie-cutter, wrapped in music...and it was sans Whoopi Goldberg. It would be good fun to take your uber conservative relatives to, or some kids that are into singing in choir. I enjoyed how friggin old Dolly Parton was and how she looks like a straight up alien because of all her plastic surgery. Literally...it kept me entertained from start to finish.
My Pick: Contraband. If only for the eye candy. Support the family.
XOXO
Jes...
