NYU Professor fired for giving James Franco a D

A former NYU professor claims, in a lawsuit that he recently brought against the institution, that he was fired because he was Mexican and because he gave James Franco a D in his Directing the Actor class while Franco was attending the University. Franco supposedly got the D because he missed 12 of the 14 classes.

The former prof, José Angel Santana, says that this would have never happened to a white academic. Um...or no one else (white or otherwise) was dumb enough to give the great James a D. Duh.

What pisses me off about this whole thing is that this guy is making James' grades public, which I am pretty sure is not allowed. I would not want Dr. Flanagan throwing my POLI 201 D all over the place...that would just be embarrassing.

The kid does so much I am surprised he made it to 2 of the classes. I agree with the grade if attendance and participation was part of the course outline and dictated part of the overall mark, but if the prof was just miffed at his lack of James time...well then that is a different story.

I got a couple of bum grades in University, but I would never go so far as to try to get a professor fired over it. If James did have something to do with the professors dismissal (tantrum over bad grade etc) then he deserves a swift kick in the nuts, but I am going to believe otherwise until someone tells me different.
