2011 Edition: Top 5: Overplayed Songs of 2011

This started out as a 'Best Songs' list, but I couldn't pick just 5. And then I realized there were even more, but I just hated them now due to the radio over-playing killer. So I give you...the most over played, and over used songs of 2011.

Rolling in the Deep
Ah Adele, I love you, but everywhere I go....Adele, Adele, Adele. If it isn't Rolling in the Deep it is Someone Like You. I just can't take it anymore. I actually liked 19 better, if you can believe it...she did have an album before 21 and it was rad.

Katy Perry
I have listed the most of the most overplayed Perry singles, but there were a hell of a lot of the this year. Last Friday Night, E.T. and Teenage Dream. It was the year of Katy. I think Firework may still be in my good books if it wasn't used in every 'uplifting' youtube video, campaign video, marketing ploy of 2011.
If all these people think they are Fireworks, watch the f-ck out. It is going to be one giant explosion that is going to take out the world.

Bruno Mars
I'd catch a Grenade...to never have to hear this song again. I really did like it when I first hear it. I even may have overplayed it a little myself and then I just couldn't get away from it. I would switch the station I was listening to when it came on and it would be played simultaneously on every other pop station in the city. I think this is what put my on my country music kick. I had to get away from Bruno.

Born this Way
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga had quite a year. She put out a bunch of singles, most of which I hated right off the bat, including Born This Way....which I had maybe a 2 day period when I found it bearable, and then of course hearing it 100 times more in a month period did not help keep it on that level.

If I Die Young
The Band Perry
As I mentioned...I went on a little country kick at some point this year and holy hell...if you didn't hear The Band Perry talking about death five or six times a day you had to wonder what was wrong with the world. Great song. But enough already.

Other overplayed songs include, Friday, Rebecca Black (any listens over 1 is considered overplaying of this horrific slap-in-the-face to music); Party Rock Anthem, LMFAO; Super Bad, Nicki Minaj; Forget You, Cee Lo Green; Only Girl, Rihanna; Til the World Ends, Britney Spears; Moves Like Jagger, Maroon 5; Give Me Everything, Pitbull.

Let's get some new stuff 2012...that we can overplay to death and hate in 12/12.
