Thoughts on Zooey Deschanel's New Girl

One of the many new TV pilots to premiere this week was Zooey Deschanel's New Girl. It's about a girl, Jessica, who gets dumped and moves in with 3 guys. She sings to herself, cries while watching Dirty Dancing and hides nothing.

Then there is Schmidt...a guy who says and does really douchy things, to the point that he actually has a douchbag jar which is utilized like a children's swear jar.

Then there is coach played by Damon Waynes Jr. (holy FACK is Damon Waynes really that old? Good Lord)...probably my favorite character of the show thus far as he has been very entetaining with his little outbursts when people are being too emotional.

The last guy is Nick who was also, like Jess, dumped recently and not doing too well with it. Lucky for us he doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve like she does. I am also not sure if they are trying to set the stage for a Jess/Nick romance....but let's not to the instestual roommate thing.

As far as episode one is concerned it didn't blow my mind, but it definitely has potential. I'll give it 2 episodes before I decide to watch it or write it off forever.
