Oslo Unites with Roses

Approximately 150,000 people gathered outside of the City Hall in Oslo to remember the 93 people killed in the Oslo-bombing and the Ut√łya massacre last week.

Look to the right of where this person is taking the video: the ivory yellow building on the far side is the Nobel Peace Centre. Internationally this is one of the main things which Norway is known for and so this incident is a huge blow for the country.

Unexpected and devastating are the words that I would use to describe the situation. I would hope that this once event does not taint anyone's view of the country or the people who come from it. After living in Norway in 2008 I can tell you first hand that they are fantastic, peaceful and wonderful people who still hold my highest regard.

In a statement after the incident Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg  said the following:

"You will not destroy us. You will not destroy our democracy and our work for a better world...No one will bomb us to silence, no one will shoot us to silence, no one will ever scare us from being Norway."
