That whole Ebert Fiasco

I was waiting for the storm to settle on this one.  Yesterday morning Ryan Dunn and his friend Zachary Hartwell were killed in a car accident after his car hit a tree and lit on fire.  Pictures of him were on Twitter drink just a few hours before the accident, so of course everyone went on to proclaim that it was a drunk driving accident (fair assessment). He was also known to be big on speeding and they say his car was going close to 110 mph when it crashed.

Roger Ebert tweeted yesterday "Friends don't let jackasses drink and drive"...which obviously brought on a shit storm of hatred from fans and fellow Jackass member, Bam Margera. Bam called Ebert a 'fat f-ck' and Ebert released a statement this morning saying that he may have tweeted too soon after the accident as he didn't know for sure that alcohol was involved.

I would be pissed if I was one of Dunn's friends. That being said, I think that you can be sad about the death of a friend and pissed off at them at the same time for drinking and driving. Just because tons of jerks drink and drive doesn't mean that it should be excused (I am talking to you Celebrity DUI Mug Shot Hall of SHAME Members). I literally tell my friends I will punch them in the face if they think of drinking and driving....and you should too.

So as untimely as Ebert's tweet was, I agree. If Dunn was indeed drunk let this be a lesson to his fans, friends and anyone else who heard about this unfortunate situation. Get your drunk asses off the road.
