Calgary gets XFest

On August 20 fans of rock will get a festival of their liking in Calgary. X92.9 is putting on XFest which will be headlined by Jane's Addiction and Weezer. Also playing at the one day festival will be House of Pain, Social Distortion, The Rural Alberta Advantage and...Michael Bernard Fitzgerald. Not that is not a typo...MBF is a pretty far cry from "rock" music, but he is local. I am sure local "rock" bands who would fit the bill better are not too pleased about this, but you win some you lose some. More names will be released at a later date.

Well I am glad that the rockers of Calgs are getting a Festival. It must piss them off that the best ones in Calgary are geared towards hipsters and hippies.
