Mike Fisher Speaks

So Mike Fisher was traded to the Nashville Predators and of COURSE everyone in Ottawa is blaming the move on his country-star wife Carrie Underwood...and why would they not? Why else would someone get traded to Nashville after playing their entire career on one team. Please. We are not idiots.

I wasn't sure if Ottawa peeps were pissed about it, but I guess they were and one radio station banned Underwood's music from being played. Ha. Good job. (Even though they are not a country station).

Mike Fisher talked recently to the Vancouver Sun about the move and how Carrie felt when Ottawa started hating her and their reaction to the banning of the Underwood tunes. (Like he was surprised?)

"I heard about it right away and Carrie heard about it and she was extremely disappointed and frustrated – I think they meant it as a joke that really wasn't funny," Fisher said. "They're not a country music station and I don't know if it was for attention or not, but obviously Carrie had nothing to do with the move or the trade or anything, so to imply something like that was just wrong."

So I think he was wrong...pretty sure it was not meant as a "joke."  Hockey fans don't joke like that.  Hockey fans are also not stupid so telling them that your wife had nothing to do with your move is just insulting to their intelligence.
