Tony Bennett Review: The Old Man's Still Got It

The Jubilee Auditorium was bumpin tonight...the elderly were out of control at the Tony Bennett concert..ok, yes I am being a tiny bit facetious, but I am sure if they were able to be loud and jump around they would have been...they just had to keep it inside. I literally walked into the lobby that was packed with people in walkers and wheel chairs...it was dope.

The concert started out with Tony's daughter Antonia singing us a few oldies...at the beginning I was thinking "giant FAIL" but she got better towards the end. I get slightly pissed when people who are below par get opportunities like that because of whose sperm they came from.

Tony came on and the people went crazy...I have NEVER seen so many standing ovations in my LIFE...I swear to GOD, every other song the people we standing like it was the best thing that they had ever heard in their lives...it was good people, but it wasn't THAT good. An old man screamed (no exaggeration, he was screaming) YEAH! when Tony started singing I Left My Heart in San Francisco.

Tony Bennett is 83 year old man...most people are bed ridden by that age, or almost there...and this man was dancing around stage and belting it out like he was in his 30's. It was crazy. He has still got pipes.

My favorite song of the night is my wedding song, the Tony Bennett version (all others suck), The Way You Look Tonight...soooooo cute. I hope Tony is still alive when I get married cause I will defs hire him to come and sing that song...yeah yeah, I am gonna marry a millionaire what's it to you.

I think the only mistake of the night was when Tony decided to sing Fly Me to the Moon without a mic...I think it was to show people that he could project...but I don't know why he didn't realize that 3/4 of his audience is probably deaf (like really deaf, not deaf like me) and missed that whole thing. So sad, but I heard it and it was dope.

Tony was really interactive with the crowd! I loved it, he told us all little stories from the olden days...basically from the time when I was supposed to be born and the universe got all messed up and didn't get around to introducing me to a womb until 1985. My favorite quote of the night was, "Rosemary Clooney and I were the original American Idols"...suck it Kelly Clarkson.

The concert was great...only lasted an hour and a half, but I think they just didn't want all the blue hairs missing their bed times...home in bed by ten! Tony you were delightful and I hope you have enough life left in you to come back my way again!

See Tony Bennett before he dies, check.

Verdict: 3.5 Stars

XOXO
Jes...
